The fifth edition of Premios Juventud, which aired live on the Univision Network July 17, garnered an average 5.2 million viewers, according to Nielsen's fast national ratings. The show was seen by more than 11 million people.

It was the most successful edition of the youth awards, which is known for its unconventional trophies (categories include "She's got Style" and "I Hear Them Everywhere") and voted upon by fans online.

Additionally, it was the most-watched show of the evening among adults 18-34, besting even all English language channels and making Univision the top-rated network of the evening.

The ratings success, however, translated to significant sales increases for less than a handful of artists, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The biggest jump was seen by Panamenian romantic reggaetón newcomer Flex. Already at No. 7 on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart, Flex's "Te Quiero" rose to No. 5, selling 2500 more units than the previous week, a 59% jump.

Significant gains were also posted by Enrique Igleisas, whose album "95/08" sold 756 units more than the previous week, a 13% jump. Aventura, who shared the stage with him, saw a 300-unit rise. Pedro Fernandez also saw a sales gain of more than 200 units.

The sales impact on other performers was negligible or non-existent.
