December 11, 2007

By Hillary Crosley, N.Y. and Gail Mitchell, L.A.

Columbia has undergone another round of layoffs, according to inside sources. Several staffers in the publicity, promotion and marketing departments were released today, including marketing VP Stephanie Gayle and video promotion head Gary Fisher. Additionally, publicists Maggie Wang and Tom Muzquiz have been let go, sources confirm. The online department emerged unscathed reportedly.

The recent round of cuts follows last week’s departures by senior VP of urban and rhythmic promotion CeCe McClendon and executive VP and chief business and legal affairs officer of Sony BMG Music Entertainment Ron Wilcox.

Columbia Records had no comment.
