Video: Alan Menken Talks Tonys, TV and Darren Criss Surprise at Billboard Film & TV Conference

Alan Menken, the legendary Oscar-and-Grammy winning composer whose many scores include "Little Shop of Horrors," "The Little Mermaid," "Beauty and the Beast," and "Enchanted," won the Maestro Award at this years Billboard Film & TV Music Conference. In this candid video Q&A Menkin expresses his surprise at Darren Criss' conference appearance (and tells us how he came to give him a $100 tip at a Michigan coffee shop); why not winning a Tony doesn't mean that much to him; and how television may be a best medium today for original music compositions.
