Composer Hans Zimmer Signs With William Morris Endeavor
May 09, 2011   |    By Phil Gallo, Los Angeles

Composer Hans Zimmer has signed with WME for representation in all areas, another coup for the agency since bringing over Amos Newman last month to run a new division within the music department.

Zimmer joins composers David Newman and David Holmes in defecting from the Gorfaine-Schwartz Agency where Amos Newman, the son of Randy Newman, was formerly employed. Amos Newman worked at Gorfaine Scwartz for four years and was active at labels in the 16 years prior to that.

The unit Newman oversees is set up to integrate WME's touring clients into film, TV and videogames, plus expand the business of composers beyond the traditional platforms.

Zimmer, who has scored more than 100 films, has a significant docket in 2011: "Rango," "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" and "The Dark Night Rises." He is also the founder of Santa Monica-based Remote Control Productions, a collective that produces music for films, television and videogames.
