Indie Shadoworld Signs With Fontana

Shadoworld Records has signed an exclusive pressing and distribution pact with Universal Music Group's independent division Fontana Distribution  Hollywood, Calif.-based Shadoworld is headed by CEO Julian T. Edwards, who told Billboard.biz exclusively that the first 2011 releases under terms of the three-year deal will be pop singer Ahrae's debut album "Theory 74 A" plus yet-untitled freshman projects by rapper Benzo and former Aftermath/Interscope rapper Shaunta.

"Julian Edwards is a true entrepreneur who has proven over time and over different businesses to be successful," says Fontana president Ron
Spaulding. "We're looking forward to the next level of success with Julian as we build Shadoworld Entertainment together."

Fontana distributes more than 80 labels, including Downtown, Music World, Delicious Vinyl and American Gramophone. The division also distributes select projects from UMG labels worldwide. Shadoworld Records is a division of Shadoworld Entertainment, which also encompasses departments devoted to
street promotions, marketing, management, TV, film and publishing.
