iTunes launched its Rewind 2011 year-end charts and awards today; among the big winners for the platorm in music and apps are Adele, Foo Fighters, and Instagram.

Adele dominated music sales on iTunes this year, swooping up titles for Top-Selling Song ("Rolling in the Deep"), Top-Selling Album ("21") and Artist of the Year. LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem," Katy Perry's "Firework," Bruno Mars' "Grenade," and Cee-Lo Green's "Forget You" rounded out the top 5 for Top-Selling Songs in 2011, in that order. "Sigh No More" (Mumford & Sons), "Tha Carter IV" (Lil Wayne), "Watch the Throne" (Kanye West and Jay-Z), and "Mylo Xyloto" (Coldplay) did the same for the Top-Selling Albums ranking.

As for staff picks, Foo Fighters' deluxe edition of their LP "Wasting Light" won Album of the Year, while Foster the People's infectious "Pumped Up Kicks" was the Song of the Year. iTunes' Breakthrough Artist of the Year is Billboard's Rising Star, Nicki Minaj.

In apps, Instagram was the iPhone App of the Year, while Facebook and Pandora took the Nos. 1 and 2 spots for Top Free Apps for iPhone in 2011.
