The Association of Independent Music has announced that Björk and Domino Records founder Laurence Bell will each take home the inaugural Independent Music Awards at a ceremony this fall. Björk will receive the Outstanding Contribution to Music trophy and Bell will take home the Pioneer Award.

Over her nearly-two-decade career, Björk has released six albums, beginning with 1993's "Debut." Her seventh album, "Biophilia," is due out Sept. 27, four years after her last release, 2007's "Volta."

The Icelandic singer has been nominated for more than a dozen Grammys and has taken home accolades from the BRIT Awards, the MTV Video Music Awards, the MOJO Awards and the UK Music Video Awards. She also received the Polar Music Prize from the Royal Swedish Academy of Music in 2010.

The same year Björk began her career, Laurence Bell founded Domino Records in London in 1993, and has since nurtured artists such as Animal Collective, Pavement (in the U.K.), Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys, Elliot Smith, Four Tet, Dirty Projectors and The Kills. The label has spawned international divisions -- including the U.S. --  and a handful of imprints, currently touting a roster with more than 50 artists.

Several independent artists will perform and 12 more awards will be handed out at the Independent Music Awards ceremony, hosted by BBC DJs Steve Lamacq and Huw Stephens at Floridita in Soho on Nov. 10.
