Pocket Hipster, New Snarky App From Echo Nest, We Are Hunted Debuts
February 23, 2011   |    By Cortney Harding, New York

Music intelligence company the Echo Nest has announced a partnership with Australian web app development company We Are Hunted to produce a snarky new app called "the Pocket Hipster."

If users can't make the trip to Williamsburg or Silver Lake, but still want to have their personal taste mocked before being given a playlist of impossibly cool acts, they can download Pocket Hipster from iTunes and feel like the lamest kid in class all over again. It's all in good fun, of course, and represents an innovative pairing between the Echo Nest, which supplies data and tools, and We Are hunted, which takes care of the creative.

Co-founded in 2005 by two MIT Media Lab PhDs, the Echo Nest powers music applications for both major and indie labels as well as media companies like the BBC and MTV.

We Are Hunted is an online music chart and discovery platform.
