Fontana Links With PIAS

June 04, 2007

By By Todd Martens, L.A.

Fontana, the indie music pipeline of Universal Music Group Distribution, has signed an exclusive U.S. distribution agreement with PIAS America. The label was previously with EMI-affiliated Caroline.

The U.S. home of the PIAS Group and Vital Distribution, PIAS America gathers such labels as Wall Of Sound, PIAS Recordings, Different and FCOM. Fontana will have access to a catalog that includes album from Sigur Ros, Felix Da Housecat and St. Germain, among others.

New albums on tap for the remainder of 2007 on PIAS America include Mogwai's soundtrack to "Zidane, A 21st Century Portrait," the latest from former Snow Patrol member Iain Archer and Amp Fiddler's Afro Strut, which features contributions from the likes of Raphael Saadiq and Corinne Bailey Rae.
