Claudio Ferrante Exits Italian Indie Carosello
October 14, 2009 - Global | Indies

By Mark Worden, Milan

Claudio Ferrante has resigned as GM of the Milan-based indie label Carosello Records, after 11 years in the job. His resignation becomes effective at the end of this month and he will be replaced by company's current head of promotion and marketing, Dario Giovannini.

Ferrante leaves in order to become managing director of Log Service Europe, which is considered Italy's largest home entertainment distribution company. It supplies both film and musical products and has relationships with several major labels. He will work from the company's Lodi and Pavia offices.

Carosello is an historic Italian record label. It was set up in 1960 as the recording branch of the Curci publishing company and, over the years, its roster has included Italian legends such as Mina and Vasco Rossi.

In addition to his work at Carosello, Claudio Ferrante has also been an active member of PMI, the Italian indie labels body which broke away from FIMI in 2005.
