Cameo Carlson has been promoted to executive VP of Universal Motown Republic Group (UMRG). Carlson reports to Mel Lewinter, chairman and CEO of UMRG; Sylvia Rhone, president of Universal Motown Records; and Monte Lipman, president of Universal Republic Records.
In her new role, Carlson will work to further integrate the digital initiatives across all of the group’s labels and will serve as the company’s liaison with Vevo, when it launches later this year, according to a release.
Most recently, Carlson served as senior VP of digital business development for UMRG. Prior to joining UMRG, she was manager of music programming and label relations for iTunes. From 2000 to 2004, Carlson was the rock and alternative programmer for more than 20 stations for AOL's Radio Products, and from 1996 to 2000, she served as the Morning Show Host/assistant program director for alternative radio station KFMZ in Columbia, Miss.
