We7 Going Mobile

June 05, 2009

By By Andre Paine, London

Ad-supported music streaming service We7 is set to launch mobile applications, CEO Steve Purdham has confirmed.

An Apple iPhone application has been completed, while Android and Blackberry apps are also in development.

It follows last month's confirmation that ad-funded streaming service Spotify has developed an app for mobiles using the Android operating system.

Oxford-based We7 has licensing deals with all the majors and various indies. It also operates an a-la-carte MP3 store allowing streaming users to purchase songs to keep.
