Radiohead Strips Away 'Nude' For Remix Project

April 01, 2008

By By Lars Brandle, London

Radiohead is utilizing the Internet for another initiative built around the band's chart-topping album, "In Rainbows."

The British alternative rock act has teamed with iTunes and Garageband for an interactive project which allows computer users to rework "Nude," released yesterday as the second single lifted from the band's new XL album release.

Wannabe remixers can buy the five separate bows to the recording -- bass, voice, guitar, strings/fx and drums -- from iTunes Plus. On purchasing all five elements, the customer will be sent an access code to complete the task via the GarageBand or Logic music production software.

Finished mixes can be uploaded to www.radioheadremix.com, where the public has until May 1 to listen and vote for their favorite remix. Bedroom remixers can also create a widget for their personal Web profile which will tally votes toward the competition.

The band will play a special gig today for BBC Radio 2 at Broadcasting House in central London.
