Beggars Group Shuffles Imprints

April 28, 2008

By By Cortney Harding, N.Y.

The Beggars Group is migrating staffers and artists from imprints Too Pure and Beggars Banquet to the 4AD label. The Too Pure and Beggars imprints will not be used "in the near future," according to the group.

4AD head of A&R Ed Horrox will now be joined by Roger Trust (currently at Beggars Banquet), Jason White (currently at Too Pure) and Jane Abernethy.

The first act to migrate will be Stereolab, whose new album "Chemical Chords" will now be released by 4AD on August 19.

4AD is headed up by the label's UK-based managing director Simon Halliday who came to the group, in that newly created position, from Warp US at the end of 2007.
