November 12, 2008

By By Cortney Harding, N.Y.

Filmed entertainment studio Lionsgate and Wind-Up Records have announced a joint publishing venture. The deal continues Lionsgate's expansion in to the music publishing business.

Under the terms of the deal, Lionsgate will have an option to buy in for certain artists who have publishing deals with Wind-Up.

The first set of acts in the deal include Thriving Ivory, Civil Twilight and Tickle Me Pink. Additionally, Lionsgate will exclusively use music from Wind-up Records for its VH1 reality show "Scream Queens," and prominently features Wind-up acts such as Seether in the upcoming action thriller "Punisher: War Zone."
