Randy Owen Signs With Broken Bow

May 27, 2008

By By Ken Tucker, Nashville

Randy Owen, the front man for the legendary country band Alabama, has signed with Nashville independent Broken Bow Records. His first single on the label will come in June and his solo debut album, "One On One," will be released Nov. 11.

Produced by John Rich of Big & Rich, Owen wrote or co-wrote seven of the 11 cuts on his debut.

Alabama's most recent airplay success came via 1999's collaboration with 'N Sync, "God Must Have Spent A Little More Time On You," which reached No. 3 on Hot Country Songs.

Meanwhile, its 2006 "Songs Of Inspiration" reached No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums tally, giving the band its first such chart topper in 17 years.
