Killers Pull Asia Dates

January 22, 2010

By By Steven Schwankert, Beijing

The Killers have cancelled their six-city Asia tour, scheduled to begin Jan. 24 in Singapore, "due to unforeseen circumstances," according to a statement posted on the band?s official web site.

The group's tour was set to take them to Singapore, Beijing, Hong Kong, Manila, Tokyo and Seoul.

The band?s cancellation hits Beijing audiences particularly hard as it follows a series of pulled shows by major international acts in 2009, including dates by Linkin Park and Oasis. ?The band deeply apologizes to their fans and hope to reschedule their shows in these cities soon,? reads the post on the band?s website.

The statement went on to say that the four remaining dates scheduled for Australia in mid-February will not be affected.

The Killers' tour wraps Feb. 21 at Flemington Racecourse, Melbourne, Australia, after which the band has said it will take an indefinite hiatus.
