Howard Rises At EMI Publishing

March 25, 2008

By By Lars Brandle, London

EMI Music Publishing U.K. has promoted A&R manager Felix Howard to VP A&R.

Howard has a strong songwriting history of his own, having penned works for such artists as Kylie Minogue, Sugababes and Amy Winehouse, and signing as a writer with the music publisher eight years ago.

Since coming on board as an executive two years ago, Howard has inked deals with the likes of Calvin Harris, Sam Sparro, Primary1, Natty, James McMorrow, Diane Birch, James Yuill and Wesley Felix.

"His empathy with the needs of the writers and artists coupled with his ability to spot a killer chorus makes him a key player in the EMI Music Publishing A&R team in the U.K., and this promotion is a well-deserved reflection of that," comments EMI Music Publishing U.K. president Guy Moot, to whom Howard reports.
