Circuit City Stores Inc. is looking to close another 150 stores - beyond the 155 the company announced to cut earlier this month - according to tech blog Gizmodo. The blog cites a "reliable industry source" who said the announcement could come two weeks from now.The company filed for bankruptcy protection on Nov. 10 and said at that point that it planned to stay open for business as the busy holiday shopping season approached. When the bankruptcy was filed, the company said it would cut 700 jobs, after announcing a week earlier that it would lay off thousands of workers due to the first round of announced closings.
If this scenario plays out, the electronics chain will operate 416 stores in the U.S.
