November 06, 2009

By By Stuart Kemp, Hollywood Reporter

British rocker Dave Stewart of Eurythmics will team with Oscar winner A.R. Rahman ("Slumdog Millionaire") to write the score for "Street Dancing," an against-all-odds movie set in the world of dance competitions held in Singapore and New York.

Cindy Gomez will make her big-screen bow in "Dancing." She previously was featured as a singing and dancing avatar in Nokia's cell phone game "Dance Fabulous."

Music videos and feature director Bille Woodruff will direct from a script penned by David Harris.

Ashok Amritraj will produce with funding from Abu Dhabi and Singapore. Stewart shared a Golden Globe with Mick Jagger for co-writing the theme song for the "Alfie" remake.
