Koch Launches Label Services Division

May 03, 2007

By By Todd Martens, Chicago

Port Washington, N.Y.-based Koch Entertainment Distribution has launched a new division it is called Koch Label Services, which is designed to add more marketing services to artist-run or small labels. The emphasis, says Koch president Michael Rosenberg, will be on signing and distributing more urban artists.

The distributor's director of urban music & business development Chris Isidori will oversee the division, and former Universal Republic product manager Angela Howard has been brought on as urban product manager. She will act as a liaison between the distributor and the labels.

Rosenberg says the division will provide more radio promotion and advertising support than Koch was previously offering. Some projects already running through the department are Day One Entertainment (Khujo Goodie of Goodie Mob), Gangsta Advisory (Soopafly), Mo Thugs (Layzie Bone), Mandatory Business (JT The Bigga Figga), and Hi Power Entertainment (Mr.Capone-E).
