A lawsuit charging the four major record labels of illegally colluding to fix the pricing of digital tracks has been dismissed by the federal judge presiding over the case, according to a report surfacing today.

According to Digital Music News, the judge ruled there was a lack of evidence to support these claims. The ruling came in October in the Southern District of New York.

The lawsuit stemmed from investigations into music pricing for both digital tracks and CDs launched by both the U.S. Department of Justice and the New York Attorney General's office back in 2006.
