Vevo Adds CBS Content In New Agreement

December 03, 2009

By By Antony Bruno, Denver

In advance of its Dec. 8 scheduled launch date, the Vevo music video service struck a content partnership deal with CBS Interactive Music Group.

The agreement adds music programming from a variety of CBS Interactive's properties, including Last.fm and more than 90 CBS Radio stations. That includes live musical performances, in-studio artist appearances, artist interviews and behind-the-scenes footage. Also included are CBS-sponsored events, such as KROQ's Acoustic Christmas and B96's Jingle Bash events. The content will be added to Vevo next year.

Vevo is a joint venture between Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, and investor Abu Dhabi Media Company. The technology powering the service is provided by YouTube.
