Upstart Music Gaming Company Launches

May 28, 2008

By By Antony Bruno, Denver

The music game space is getting hotter than ever. In a month that saw "Rock Band" released in Europe, Guitar Hero 4 announced, and Konami's Rock Revolution title unveiled, there is now a new developer in the mix -- Music Video Games.

Albeit a much smaller company than its aforementioned rivals, the new venture plans to "develop, publish and exploit technology and proprietary music beat matching game designs," according to its Web site. Details remain slim, but the company seems ready to focus on online casual games rather than the big-console games of its rivals.

The company is led by videogame industry veteran Vincent Bitetti as CEO, with former Warner Bros. Records exec. Mark Goldstein and former THQ exec. Tim Walsh serving as strategic advisors.
