Digital Briefs: Veoh, YouLicense, ID Interactive

January 06, 2009

By By Antony Bruno, Denver

- Online video service Veoh won a slight reprieve when the judge presiding over Universal Music Group's copyright infringement lawsuit against the company refused to grant the label's request for a summary judgment.

- Music licensing platform YouLicense introduced a new platform that lets labels set up their own automated licensing service online, rather than contribute to the broader YouLicense service. Content companies such as INgrooves, Big Fish Media, AWAL, MBop digital and Cyberset Records are first to adopt it.

- Universal Music Group has teamed with ID Interactive to provide music fans a customized ringtone service called UrTone-a off-deck online ringtone service compatible with most U.S. operators.
