Rockworld.TV, the U.K.-based dedicated music-TV channel, will be distributed internationally through a deal struck with Joost, the recently-launched Web 2.0 digital-entertainment platform.

Rockworld.TV and its programs of pre-recorded live-concerts, interviews, news and reviews, can currently be seen on Sky, the U.K.-only satellite-delivered TV platform controlled and operated by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp.

The agreement with Joost means Rockworld.TV will become available to consumers without access to Sky.

"We are always looking for new ways in which to enhance our broadcast offering and Joost provides a unique platform through which we can extend our reach and enhance the visibility of the Rockworld.TV brand," said Peter Hadfield, Rockworld.TV's joint CEO, in a statement.

Joost is a user-generated online platform which incorporates copyright protection technology.

It was launched May 1 by Janus Friis and Niklas Zennstrom, co-founders of Internet-delivered phone service Skype and the now discredited peer-to-peer file-sharing platform Kazaa.
