Update: According to Best Buy, Napster president Brad Duea is also no longer with the company. Both positions were eliminated as part of a executive restructuring and not as voluntary a move as Gorog suggested in the original e-mail announcing the move.

After 10 years, Napster CEO Chris Gorog is stepping down from the company to start his own venture.

Gorog originally was chairman and CEO of Roxio, which was renamed Napster after it acquired the famous brand and Web site. Best Buy acquired Napster in October of 2008. Christopher Allen will take over Gorog's duties in the role of GM.

Gorog says he's established a new "personal" company called Gorog.net, which he says will serve as a foundation of sorts to "explore new opportunities" for both himself and others interested in the entertainment, media and technology space.
