Tina Turner Postpones U.K. Shows

March 11, 2009

By By Andre Paine, London

Tina Turner has postponed her U.K. shows this week because she is suffering from respiratory flu.

The singer was due to perform her fifth O2 arena date in London tonight (March 11) and Sheffield Arena on March 12. The tour is promoted by AEG Live.

"Tina always wants to give 100% and has been overwhelmed by the reaction from her U.K. fans at the gigs," said a statement. "She regrets this decision to postpone and the inconvenience to all those fans with tickets, but wants to make sure each concert she does is memorable for everyone."

The tour is set to resume at Paris Palais Omnisports de Bercy on March 16 and returns to the U.K. at the end of the month. The postponed dates will be rescheduled for May.
