EMI Ups Key Execs In Latin American Unit

As part of its continuing restructuring, EMI Music has announced key appointments in its Latin American operation, promoting Marcelo Castello Branco and Camilo Lara to dual roles in Brazil and Mexico, respectively.

Castello Branco, who formerly headed EMI Brazil's offices, will now have dual roles as head of A&R for Brazil and chairman of EMI Music South America, supervising EMI's operations in Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Colombia. In his A&R role, Castello Branco will report to Billy Mann, president of A&R, international, and in his executive role, he will report to Adrian Cheesley, EMI Music's president for Asia Pacific and Latin America.

In turn, Camilo Lara, who headed EMI Mexico's offices, will now oversee A&R for all Spanish language repertoire in Latin America. In this capacity, he will report to Mann. Lara has also been named chairman of EMI Music Mexico, reporting to Cheesley.
