February 05, 2008

By By Ray Waddell, Nashville

Mobile phone marketing platform Mozes, Inc. has acquired Nashville based Hurricane Interactive Promotions, a leader in live concert mobile phone promotions, giving Mozes an expanded presence in the Nashville music market and broadening its concert platform.

"Hurricane brings Mozes incredible expertise with live concert mobile experiences for some of the biggest names in music," Dorrian Porter, CEO of Mozes, said in a prepared statement. "That expertise combined with our platform further enables Mozes to tie the web, the cell phone and live events together in a way that is meaningful to music fans and connects them to what they love."

Hurricane was founded by Chris Stacey in 2005. Its client roster includes Universal Music Group Nashville, Universal South, Spalding Entertainment and Midas Records, and it has delivered on promotions for such artists as Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, Brooks & Dunn, Wynonna Judd and Rascal Flatts. In 2007, the Hurricane powered over two hundred live concert experiences. Touring artists used the service to power in-venue "text to screen" capabilities, live contests and music content sales.
