EMI Mexico Cuts Staff

June 13, 2008

By By Ayala Ben-Yehuda, L.A.

EMI's ongoing restructuring claimed eight employees from the label's Mexico office this week, according to a label source.

Affected departments included marketing and sales, among others. Televisa EMI, a separate label that is a joint venture with TV company Televisa, was not included in this week's cuts.

News of EMI Mexico's layoffs came on the heels of a job cut of over 20 former Univision Music Group employees at Universal Music Latin Entertainment.
