Jason Swinscoe of the U.K. jazz/electronica act the Cinematic Orchestra has formed a new label, Motion Audio, in partnership with the group's Ninja Tune label.

Swinscoe has joined forces with Dominic Smith, the long-term A&R for the Cinematic Orchestra at Ninja Tune. The London-based indie will provide resources and back-end support.

The first release, in March 2010, with be former Lamb member Lou Rhodes' third solo album, "One Good Thing." It will be followed by an album from Brooklyn singer-songwriter Gray Reverend, who has performed with the Cinematic Orchestra.

"Motion Audio will be more about a vibe than any particular sound or style," said Swinscoe in a statement. "We want to surprise people, move people, make art. The only thing the records will share is heart."

The name of the label was inspired by the Cinematic Orchestra's first album, "Motion," released in 1999. The group has released four studio albums and is well known for the track "To Build a Home," which has had numerous synch appearances on film and TV.
