Online music collaboration service MixMatchMusic has acquired rival Mix2r. The deal adds more than 6,200 songs and music clips to the 2,500 MixMatchMusic has offered since it went live last September. Both services focus on dance-based electronica. Members can browse and contribute songs, as well as combine beats, tracks and clips to create new works, which are also posted on the site.

MixMatchMusic also offers online mixing tools which members can use to sample and edit their music, and allows members to sell their work to others in the community.
