AOL Reveals New Online Music Player

June 10, 2008

By By Antony Bruno, L.A.

America Online unveiled a new online music player and expanded programming options for its AOL Radio service. The new player allows users to skip and pause songs, add channel presets and share their streaming music with other AOL members via the AOL Instant Messenger system. It also allows users to view the last 30 songs played.

Additionally, the new player adds several new radio stations provided by CBS Radio, including 150 local stations, to the 200 stations currently provided by AOL Radio.

AOL says it plans to release a downloadable version of the AOL Radio service for Mac users in a few weeks, and is developing widgets that would allow users to embed their AOL Radio streams in other social networking sites.
