Pet Shop Boys Gets Festive On EP

November 06, 2009

By By Andre Paine, London

U.K. synth pop duo Pet Shop Boys will issue a new EP, "Christmas" (Parlophone/EMI), on Dec. 14.

The five-track release will be available on CD and download and includes a new version of "It Doesn't Often Snow At Christmas," a track originally issued as a fan club single in 1997.

The EP also includes a version of Madness' "My Girl," a new version of "All Over the World" from current album "Yes," and a medley of Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" and the duo's "Domino Dancing" which they perform on tour. Stuart Price produced the studio version of the medley.

"Christmas" coincides with Pet Shop Boys' four U.K. arena dates, promoted by Live Nation, which concludes at London's O2 Arena on Dec. 21.

It is not clear if the EP will be issued in the U.S., where the duo is signed to Astralwerks.
