The Killers has extended its deal with Universal Music Publishing Group in an arrangement that will also cover solo projects. Each of the band reportedly has solo projects lined up during a hiatus for the Killers.
The Las Vegas band first signed a worldwide publishing deal with UMPG in 2004.
"I'm particularly proud we have extended our relationship with the Killers as they're a band that we believed in from day one," said Paul Connolly, president of Europe & U.K., Universal Music Publishing, in a statement. "Across all their albums they've proved that they have an outstanding and enduring talent for writing hit songs, from 'Mr. Brightside' on the first album to 'Human' on the last. I'm sure this will continue long into the future."
The announcement on the extension did not confirm the duration of the new deal.
