ZTT Goes To Union Square

September 08, 2009

By By Jen Wilson, London

U.K.-based catalog marketing specialist Union Square Music (USM) has signed a deal to represent the Zang Tuum Tumb (ZTT) catalog worldwide, excluding North America and Japan.

The deal will encompass the physical releases, licensing and synchronization for the ZTT roster, which includes Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Art of Noise, Propaganda and 808 State.

The first releases, including new deluxe editions and box sets, will be issued in early 2010 on USM's Salvo imprint.

The deal builds on USM's existing relationship with ZTT's holding company SPZ, whose Stiff Records has been represented by USM for the last nine years.

ZTT was founded by Trevor Horn, Jill Sinclair and Paul Morley in 1983. It claims to have achieved 45 U.K. top 40 hits, three of which were Frankie Goes to Hollywood chart-toppers.

Koch/E1 is responsible for the ZTT catalog in North America, while Third Ear looks after it in Japan.
