Sony Music Entertainment U.K. has joined with Three Six Zero Group to re-launch dance imprint Deconstruction Records, eight years after it was closed.A series of back catalog releases are planned ahead of signing new acts later in the year.
Headed by Sony's SVP of A&R, Mike Pickering -- one of Deconstruction's founding members -- and Three Six Zero's dance label management specialists AnD press, the joint venture label's first re-release will be Sasha's "Xpander." It is due via Beatport Aug. 3 in the U.K. and will be accompanied by new mixes.
A release of Lionrock's "Packet of Peace," including the Chemical Brothers remix, will follow in September.
Deconstruction Records was founded in 1987 and issued records by Kylie Minogue, M People, Way Out West, Sasha, Black Box and N Joi. It was also parent label for Concrete Records, which featured Lionrock, Death in Vegas and Dub Pistols on its roster.
