Digital Briefs: Webbys, EMI, The Pirate Bay And More

November 27, 2007

By By Antony Bruno, Denver

- The Webby Awards released their list of the 12 most influential Internet videos of all time. On the list is the music video for OK Go's "Here We Go Again," otherwise known as "the treadmill song."

- EMI will release a video album of John Lennon songs exclusively on iTunes, accessible through a card sold only at Starbucks. The $25 digital video card works much like digital download cards, in that card owners enter in an access code to download the content from iTunes.

- The Pirate Bay announced plans to launch a new music section that will feature new ways to browse by genre, by artist and other discovery tools. The group says it will become available "in a few days."

- Fresh off its acquisition of streaming content company Zing, Dell has registered to trademark the name "Zingspot." No word from the company about what that means exactly, but speculation is that the company could be planning a streaming content portal or service of some kind.
