mSpot Debuts 'Make-A-Ringer'

October 08, 2007

By By Antony Bruno, Denver

Mobile content firm mSpot introduced its Make-A-Ringer ringtones service, allowing users to create their own ringtone from a selection of licensed songs.

Unlike other services that let users create their own ringtone from a song of their choice, mSpot's service is limited to the songs that are it its catalog. Once the user chooses a song, the Make-A-Ringer service lets them choose the specific beginning and end of a clip to make into their ringtone. It all takes place from the mobile phone, meaning there is no need to do the work on a computer and then forward it to a phone when complete.

mSpot has not yet announced a mobile operator partner for the service.
