By By Ed Christman, N.Y.

Brooklyn band MGMT has signed a multi-year, North American, publishing administration deal with Spirit Music Group.

"We're looking forward to working with...their team to bring their simultaneously complex and beautiful songs to music fans via sync licensing and a wide range of traditional and non-traditional marketing," Spirit Music Group president Mark Fried said in a statement.

The band's debut, "Oracular Spectacular," has scanned 118,000 units according to Nielsen SoundScan.

MGMT's music has already been featured in several film and television projects, including the opening title and soundtrack CD for Sony Picture's "21" and the season finale of CW's "Gossip Girl." Also, the band's music will be featured in the widescreen documentary "American Teen."

MGMT joins a Spirit roster that already includes Scissor Sisters, Ambulance Ltd, Blood Arm, Justice, Manu Chao, and Aberfeldy.
