EverGreen Acquires Sidney Lawrence Catalog
October 15, 2008 - Publishing

By Ed Christman, N.Y.

EverGreen Copyrights has acquired the Sidney Lawrence back catalog from veteran bluegrass songwriter/performer Sidney Cox. As part of the deal, EverGreen will administer the songs and additionally signed Cox to a publishing deal for new works going forward.

Through the acquisition, EverGreen retains ownership of the publishing interest in 17 works, including songs performed by Alison Krauss such as "Broadway," "I've Got that Old Feeling," "Tonight I'll Be Lonely Too," among others. Other songs from the catalog have been performed by Cox's ensemble group, the Cox Family, and by artist Ronnie Bowman. Eight songs written by Cox were featured on Krauss' double platinum album, "Broadway." His song, "Borderline," was also the title track from Krauss' album which won a Grammy for best country album in
2006.

Cox is currently writing songs for Krauss' next album, Evergreen said in the announcement.
