Digital Briefs: NPR, Jonas Brothers
June 05, 2009 - Digital and Mobile

By Antony Bruno, Denver

-- National Public Radio's public interactive unit will collect and report online streaming music activity to SoundExchange, as directed by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Public interactive will serve as the central reporting vehicle for all CPB-supported stations, as well as NPR, NPR member stations, members of the National Federation of Community Broadcasters, American Public Media, the Public Radio Exchange, and Public Radio International. The reporting service is a requirement under the CPB's settlement with SoundExchange under the Webcasting Performance Agreement reached earlier this year.

-- The Jonas Brothers' hour-long video chat session on Facebook drew nearly 1 million viewers last week. Facebook hosted the chat, with technology coming from Ustream. (Silicon Alley Insider)
