Nimbit Adds E-Ticketing To Widget
August 21, 2007 - Digital and Mobile

By Antony Bruno, Denver

Bands using the digital techology firm nimbit "Online Merch Table" widget to sell MP3s and T-shirts from their websites or MySpace pages can now add concert tickets as well.

The company added an e-ticketing feature that allows artists to sell concert tickets directly to fans via the show calendar on their site. The system charges a $1 service fee and allows sales up to 12 hours before the show. All fans buying tickets are placed on a will call list and to pick up their tickets at the venue.

Proceeds are split according to the contract terms between the venue and the act.

The service currently is limited to larger-sized venues with more established systems, but nimbit says it plans to add small and mid-sized venues later this year. The nimbit service is free to artists for the basic plan, and $5 a month for more advanced features.
