Thorsten Koenig, managing director of Universal Music Germany's international division, is leaving the company after 10 years on Feb. 15 to launch his own business consultancy.
Dirk Baur, previously managing director at Virgin/Labels/Mute at EMI Germany, has been appointed managing director of the international division of Universal Music Germany.
Koenig's agency's first client will be Universal Music, according to a statement.
Frank Briegmann, president & CEO, Universal Music Germany, said: "Due to Thorsten Koenig's professional reorientation, an esteemed colleague and a top-class marketing specialist will leave us. Thorsten has made a major contribution to the success of our company. I would like to thank him explicitly for our excellent teamwork.
"At the same time I am looking forward to starting our new form of cooperation. In Dirk Baur we have found a very competent successor who will push the ongoing triumph of our great international artists even more. I wish him and his team a lot of success."
