Little Big Town Looking For Opening Acts January 22, 2009

Country group Little Big Town is looking for opening acts for its forthcoming headlining "A Place To Land" tour and is using events Web site Eventful to help choose the winners. Four bands will join the Zac Brown Band, Ashton Shepherd and Kate & Kacey, who have all already signed on as openers.
Fans and musicians can log on to eventful.com/littlebigtown to participate. The competition runs through 2 p.m. PT, Feb. 27. The winning bands will be announced later that day. The top four acts will perform at different stops on the tour during March. Once the bands are registered for the competition, the rest is up to the support of their fans, who can bolster their favorite acts' chances by using Eventful's Demand service.
Little Big Town, which has opened for George Strait, John Mellencamp, Martina McBride, Keith Urban and Sugarland, among others, devised the plan because it "wanted to find a way to give back to some bands that are just getting started in their careers," according to the group's Karen Fairchild.
