Digital Briefs: Google, Guns N' Roses, Melodeo

- Google has stepped into the three-strikes debate in New Zealand, submitting an opinion during the public commentary period in the country for a proposed law that would disconnect the Internet access of repeat copyright infringers.

- Prosecutors in the Guns N' Roses "Chinese Democracy" leak trial are recommending a six-month jail term for Kevin Cogill, who posted several tracks of the new album online in advance of the official release. Sentencing is scheduled for May 4.

- Melodeo is extending its nuTsie music streaming application to mobile phones using Google's Android operating system. In the U.S., only one phone uses the software-T-Mobile's G1-but South Korean manufacturer HTC has plans to develop three more models this year.
