'Ladies' Bras' Hold U.K. Chart Record
August 31, 2007 - Global | Digital and Mobile

By Andre Paine, London

A 36-second track has become the shortest song ever to make the U.K. Top 75 Singles Chart, after gaining support from a U.K. podcast show.

"The Ladies' Bras" by Jonny Trunk and Wisbey made No. 70 on the Official U.K. Singles Chart on 1,644 sales without any national radio airplay.

However, the humorous track has been championed by broadcaster Danny Baker on his All Day Breakfast Show podcast, and it was subsequently made available to purchase as a download via online services such as Wippit.

The song is the shortest track to make the U.K. Chart, easily beating the 64-second "Spider Pig" by Hans Zimmer from "The Simpsons Movie", which charted at No. 24 just three weeks earlier. Green Day's 81-second theme from "The Simpsons Movie" was briefly the shortest chart hit the week before that.
