P&P, London Calling Forge Synch Pact
June 26, 2008 - Global | Publishing

By Lars Brandle, London

London-based music publisher P&P Songs has struck a long-term agreement with London Calling, Tracie London-Rowell's specialist film and TV synch firm.

Through the new deal, London Calling will exploit P&P's catalog, which includes copyrights by Burt Bacharach, Albert Hammond and Steve Miller.

"We jumped at the opportunity to work with Tracie. Operating in tandem with Indi Chawla, our licensing director, we believe this gives us an edge in the increasingly-competitive sychronization market", comments Peter McCamley, joint managing director, of P&P.

London-Rowell is recognized as one of Britain's foremost synch experts, having previously headed-up Universal Music U.K.'s film, TV and advertising unit. She also served with indie firm Chrysalis Music as director of its synchronisation department for a 10-year stint.

Last December, she launched London Calling, which has since added the likes of ie Music, Chris Morrison's CMO Management and Fabric Publishing to its list of clients. London Calling is not associated with the annual U.K. conference of the same name.

P&P Songs was established in July 2005 by McCamley and his co-MD Paul Flynn. Its clients include Windswept, Tom Snow, Beth Neilson Chapman and the Farm.
