'High School Musical' Winner To Receive Disney Deal June 16, 2008

The winner of the ABC summer reality series "High School Musical: Get in the Picture" will receive a recording contract for two singles with Walt Disney Records.
One of those singles will be a version of the song from the artist's winning music video, which will be shown over the end credits of the theatrical release of "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" this fall.
In addition, the winner gets a talent hold agreement with ABC, basically setting the stage for them to appear in a future production on the network.
Kmart has come aboard as the on-air and online retail partner for the show.
"High School Musical: Get in the Picture" will debut on ABC on July 20; it will be hosted by Nick Lachey.
